It commemorates the heroism of the Nez Perce warrior, Chief Joseph. It is the oldest on-going Pendleton blanket. Its design is balanced with arrowheads symbolizing bravery and pointing in all directions of Mother Earth. The size is preferred by the Native Americans for ceremonial purposes and wrapping about oneself as a robe.
