Ernest Benally is a prize-winning jeweler, who has won many “Best Ribbons” from all the top Indian art shows. His work was included in the ground-breaking exhibit “Changing Hands: Contemporary Indian Art from the Southwest”, curated by the American Craft Museum in New York City. Ernest is a master of the inlay technique. He is considered one of the best Navajo jewelers alive.
This gorgeous ring was created by Ernest about 15 years ago and contains a substantial amount of 14 Karat Gold and is signed by him. It is inlaid with Sugilite, Turquoise, Coral, Wild Horse, and Malachite. Size 6 1/2.
I spoke with Ernest Benally’s wife, Veronica, recently and she said that Earnest has appraised this ring at $1,600.00, one reason being that there is so much 14K gold used. He only makes this ring for special orders now.
