Description
Eya-Hey Nakoda is group more recent to the pow wow trail, but many of the singers are from singing groups of years past including the famous Chiniki Lake Singers. Eya-Hey Nakoda translated into English means Mountain Nakoda which is very appropriate since they are from the Nakoda First Nation in the foothills of the Alberta Rockies. The Nakoda Nation is a branch of the Sioux that resides in the Northern Plains of America. Many migrated to Canada in the late 1700’s and contributed greatly to the cultural diversity there. Their music is upbeat and the beautiful melodies will have you singing along.
